Why? How? What’s in it for Facebook? What’s in it for users?
Let's take a closer look at each of the reasons:
WHY?
👉There are already plenty of apps available for dating Tinder, Bumble, Ok Cupid...
But there is someone entering this game who knows you better than you know yourself. 😈
👉 Engagement on Facebook has become a big issue these days so it needs something new to get the users back and retain them on Facebook.
👉 Facebook being one of the largest platform for database with 5bn people or 62% of totals world population. We all know that the USA is the biggest user base for Facebook. If we dig deeper It has lost 2.7% of GenZ users and 1.9% millennials in 2022 than 2018 and added more older users.
👉 As per Napoleon Cat, a research firm for social media analytics, Facebook had 36% GenZ users in 2018 and it has come down to 33.3% in February 2022.
As per analyst, dating market capital would be $12bn dollars.
It makes sense for social networking giants like Facebook to enter this market.
The competitors like Tinder and Bumble rely on Facebook API’s to gather basic user information. So why can’t Facebook dating leverage parts of social network and user behavior that other dating apps can’t access?
HOW?
👉 It doesn’t require to download separately as it is built directly in the main Facebook app. Bringing with the existing user base and user network Facebook is trying to ace this ball game.🌏
What’s in it for Users?
👉 I was amazed by this Secret Crush Feature. I think it will play a major role in the lives of college goers and teenagers and make them want to use it .
Privacy wise, It excludes recommending your family and extended family. That's soo cool right 😁
